Hildenborough Farm, Kent
Berkeley Homes (Kent) Ltd
Originally designed by Clough Williams-Ellis in 1910, the Princess Christian’s Farm Colony was home to “25 feeble minded boys” accommodated in a building with circular towers and conical roofs typical of oast houses in the Weald of Kent. The Grade II listed building was under threat, but was carefully restored as part of a residential development within the grounds.
The new build houses and apartments follow the same traditional character of typical Weald houses, creating a distinctive scheme which respects the restored former hospital buildings and the surrounding area.
